The Red Thread of Fate

There’s an old legend that says the people we are meant to meet are connected to us by an invisible red thread — tied from heart to heart. No matter the distance, no matter the timing, the thread may stretch or tangle… but it never breaks.

Red Thread was created from that belief.

The red thread reminds us that we are not here by accident. If you’ve found your way here, perhaps the thread is gently pulling.

More on Reiki

What is Reiki?

Reiki is a gentle, hands-on healing practice that helps restore balance and harmony to the body, mind, and spirit. It allows the body to release tension and recharge naturally. Reiki works with the body’s natural energy, giving everyone the opportunity to tap into the unlimited supply of Universal Life Force Energy. The word Reiki comes from Japanese—“Rei” means divine wisdom and “Ki” means life force energy—highlighting its connection to the universal energy that flows through all living beings. Reiki is safe, non-invasive, and accessible to anyone.

Who is Mikao Usui?

Reiki was developed in the early 20th century by Mikao Usui, a Japanese Buddhist, who dedicated his life to understanding and harnessing universal life energy for healing. The practice spread through his students, evolving into the modern Reiki we know today, yet always staying rooted in Usui’s principles of compassion, mindfulness, and self-development. Over the years, Reiki has been shared worldwide, adapting to different cultures while maintaining the integrity of its original teachings.

Our Reiki Lineage

The Reiki offered here follows the traditional Usui Shiki Ryoho lineage, carefully passed down through nine generations of teachers, making us, at Red Thread Reiki, 10th generation Reiki practitioners. This lineage ensures that the essence of the practice—honoring the recipient’s journey and connecting with universal energy—is preserved, while allowing space for individual growth and healing.
